Our ¾” high garage door threshold seal kit is designed to keep your garage clean and dry. The product is the ideal solution for any garage that experiences a lot of rainfall throughout the year. It will make sure that your garage withstands all of the rain coming its way because it acts as a garage door water stop. This also applies to any debris that may be flying in such as leaves, and any dust so if you live in a particularly hot area where there’s a lot of dust, this garage door floor seal will surely help that.
The threshold is available in a variety of different sizes however the height and width of it are always the same which are ¾” and 41⁄3” respectively. The lengths span from 8’3” to 50’ or 16.67 yards, which will cover most if not all garage doors, please be sure to measure the length of your garage door before purchasing this product. If it’s slightly larger that will be fine as the material can be cut through to match the length and opening.
Will This Product Work With My Garage Door
This garage door water stopper can be used on roller shutter doors, side-hinged doors, up-and-over and sectional doors with absolutely no problem. This is true for any commercial and domestic garage doors not mentioned also, it is a very simple product to use and apply and as long as it is on an even floor it will always work amazingly. If you are looking for a taller seal because your garage door's gap is a little larger than 3/4" then you might want to look at our other seals for example the 1¼" garage door seal.
How Does This Garage Door Threshold Seal Work
All our residential threshold seals work in a similar fashion, by providing you with top of the line adhesive and sealant which will affix the seal to the floor it becomes a water-tight seal. When this has been done, the seal then prevents water whether rain or flooding from getting inside the garage. How to Choose the Correct Threshold Seal Height
All you need to do to pick the correct height of the seal is to measure the largest gap between the garage door and floor. This is best done by measuring the gap in several places as it may vary across the width of the garage door, and you may have a garage that has a ½” gap on one side and a 1-inch gap on the other. Which would indicate that a 1” would be what you need at minimum.
When you have found the largest gap, you can then pick out the ideal seal for you. Because the seals range from ¼” all the way to 2” of height you have a lot of choice when it comes to sealing the gap. In addition to the height of any gap underneath your garage door, you would also need to consider the volume of water that you require protection from as the height of the threshold will protect against that level of standing water. So if you suffer from a lot of heavy torrential rain one of the larger seals is probably going to be more suitable for your needs.
If you do decide to purchase a larger threshold seal, then you can easily fit a taller threshold but just keep in mind that you should set it back slightly away from the door. This will allow the garage door to close without any modifications.
How to Choose the Correct Length for Your Garage
The other thing that is important to measure before purchasing is the length of threshold seal you will need. The way to do this is quite simple, all you will need to do is measure the width of the garage door from left to right. This will help inform you on which of the lengths you will need to select.
Because we have so many different lengths you can choose from, you can be sure that you will find the exact length you need. You will need the seal to be slightly longer than the width of the door (around 1 ½” each side) to notch it around the door frame or garage door tracks. You can cut it down with a hacksaw, sharp knife, or scissors depending on the material used.
