The ProTeam Legacy

The ProTeam story began in 1983 when Larry Shideler had the brilliant idea of creating a lightweight backpack vacuum to aid in commercial cleaning activities. Working from his garage, he invented an original backpack vacuum dubbed the QuarterVac out of PVC pipes, a powerful motor, and various filters.

The vacuum was designed to be worn on the back and was intended to make cleaning large commercial spaces quicker and more efficient. It was soon discovered that the backpack vacuum significantly increased worker productivity, effectiveness, and ergonomic comfort.

This invention transformed the janitorial industry. It was only a short time before maintenance teams in every industry, including hotels, schools, and business buildings, discovered that ProTeam backpacks saved time, money, and effort while improving indoor air quality. It was not only high-performing, but its sturdy build and straightforward design ensured that it would last for years with low repair and maintenance costs. The ProTeam backpack vacuum quickly became a popular choice among professional cleaners, and the company has since continued to innovate and improve the design of its backpack vacuums.

It soon came to be known through scientific studies that indoor air quality can impact health and productivity significantly, whether at work, school, or home. ProTeam then concentrated efforts on creating goods that would yield better air quality.

Vacuum cleaners can help improve air quality by removing dust, dirt, and other particles from surfaces and the air. They can help reduce the number of allergens and irritants in the air, which is especially beneficial for people with allergies or respiratory difficulties. Additionally, vacuuming can help remove pet dander, mold spores, and other microscopic pollutants. These are harmful to one's health. HEPA filters, a part of some vacuum cleaners, are particularly effective at catching small particles that are difficult to remove with other filters.

ProTeam stepped up its efforts to educate the general public about the need for cleaning for health and improving indoor air quality. ProTeam created a collaboration with the American Lung Association in 2002 to provide information to the public about the importance of clean indoor air, which is still ongoing today.

Emerson, a varied global manufacturing and technology corporation, purchased ProTeam in 2009. The Super Coach Pro continued the history of innovation and cleaning for health. The HEPA filter of the Supercoach Pro collects 99.97% of pollutants as small as 0.3 microns. It boasts a powerful, long-lasting motor capable of handling heavy-duty cleaning activities and a 50-foot power cord that allows you to clean large areas without often changing outlets. Overall, the Supercoach Pro is a powerful, efficient, and long-lasting backpack vacuum ideal for commercial and industrial cleaning.
