The ProTeam Legacy
The ProTeam story began in 1983 when Larry Shideler had the brilliant idea of creating a lightweight backpack vacuum to aid in commercial cleaning activities. Working from his garage, he invented an original backpack vacuum dubbed the QuarterVac out of PVC pipes, a powerful motor, and various filters.
The vacuum was designed to be worn on the back and was intended to make cleaning large commercial spaces quicker and more efficient. It was soon discovered that the backpack vacuum significantly increased worker productivity, effectiveness, and ergonomic comfort.
This invention transformed the janitorial industry. It was only a short time before maintenance teams in every industry, including hotels, schools, and business buildings, discovered that ProTeam backpacks saved time, money, and effort while improving indoor air quality.
