The commercial ashtray features a removable top that fastens to the base by two easily operated clasps for emptying and re-attachment. This Smokers' Station has two 1 1/4-inch diameter disposal openings for ease of access. The cigarette butt receptacle is constructed with a UV-stabilized hammertone, Uni-Koat powder coated finish that endures severe weather and prevents unsightly cigarette burn damage. A nickel plated brass chain secures the top to base to deter theft.

California Prop 65
Proposition 65 is an initiative originally approved by CA voters to address their growing concerns about exposure to toxic chemicals. It became the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known by its original name of Proposition 65. Prop 65 requires the State of CA to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm, etc. The chemicals include additives or ingredients in pesticides, common household products, food, drugs, dyes, or solvents. The program is administered by The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) which is part of the CA Environmental Protection Agency. Where required, warnings must be included with the product?s labeling.

Factory Mutual is an independent testing agency whose approvals are based on Standard 6921 Combustible Waste Containers. Standard 6921 is performance criteria for containers with covers (lids) and their ability to withstand internal fires, maintain a certain range of stability, if dumped, and stay intact over a wide temperature range.
